About the Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll be part of a dedicated team in our 9-bed children’s residential home in Walsall, supporting young people aged from 4 - 17 with:
- Complex Learning disabilities and associated behavioural challenges
- Sensory and physical needs
- Acquired Brain Injury, severe and complex care needs
Many of our young people have experienced trauma or neglect, so your role as Residential Support Worker is vital in helping them feel safe, valued and supported.
Your day could include:
- Supporting daily routines and independence skills
- Taking young people to school, appointments and community activities
- Creating fun, engaging experiences
- Building trusted, positive relationships
- Supporting behaviour positively and safely
Flexible Working Patterns
We offer both Day and Night roles:
Days:
- Early, late and long day shifts
- Sleep-ins included
- Some split shifts
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for people who genuinely care and want to make a difference.
Requirements:
- 2 - 5 years exp in Childrens Residential Setting
- Level 3 in Children & Young People (or equivalent)
- Experience with learning disabilities / complex needs / Trauma
- Strong safeguarding knowledge / Risk
- Practice Leadership on Shift - on the spot coaching, mentoring and support
- Ability to Shift Lead - Role model positive practice
- Compliance and Quality knowledge and oversight
You’ll also be:
- Compassionate, patient and resilient
- A strong communicator with good written skills
- Confident in managing challenging situations
- A team player who can also use their own initiative
- Someone who brings energy, ideas and positivity
Driving licence preferred (but not essential)
