We are looking for an experienced and motivated Bookkeeper to join our growing accountancy practice.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience gained within an accountancy practice, and will be confident working with a variety of clients and businesses.
The Role
The role will involve a broad range of bookkeeping and accounts-related responsibilities, including:
- Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records for a portfolio of clients
- Processing purchase and sales invoices, bank transactions and reconciliations
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Assisting with payroll processing and related tasks
- Preparing accounts working papers for year-end accounts
- Supporting the preparation of statutory accounts
- Ensuring client records are accurate, complete and up to date
- General office and administrative duties
- Managing and maintaining electronic filing systems
- Liaising with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
- Assisting the wider accounts team with general practice work
- Working to deadlines and managing your own workload effectively
- Supporting the wider team with day-to-day practice administration
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- AAT Level 3 or Level 4 qualified
- Experienced in bookkeeping, with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience
- Able to work independently while also being a strong team player
- Organised, accurate and able to meet deadlines
- Confident communicating with clients and colleagues
- Comfortable working across multiple clients and varying levels of complexity
Desirable
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks
- Previous experience preparing year-end accounts
- Good knowledge of UK accounting and VAT standards
