Join Our Team
Kidspace is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and confident Senior Early Years Practitioner to join our friendly team at Kidspace Markfield.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Level 3 practitioner who is ready to take the next step in their Early Years career, or for someone already working at senior level who is looking for a new setting where they can make a real difference.
As a Senior Practitioner, you will continue to spend your time doing what matters most — working directly with the children — while also helping to lead good practice within the room and supporting other members of the team.
The Role
Working alongside our Nursery Manager, Assistant Nursery Manager and wider team, you will help ensure that children receive consistently high-quality care, learning and experiences.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS
- Acting as a positive role model and promoting excellent practice within the room
- Supporting the organisation and smooth running of the room
- Helping practitioners plan engaging and meaningful experiences based on children's interests and development
- Acting as a key person and maintaining a strong understanding of your key children's individual needs
- Supporting observations, assessments and children's next steps
- Helping ensure children's records are accurate and kept up to date
- Building excellent relationships with children and their families
- Supporting newer or less experienced members of the team
- Helping maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety and welfare
- Supporting children's personal care, meals, sleep and daily routines
- Encouraging independence, confidence, communication and positive relationships
- Helping create an exciting, welcoming and well-organised learning environment
- Stepping up and taking additional responsibility within the room when required
- Working closely with the management team to continually improve practice across the nursery
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above
- Has good experience working within an Early Years setting
- Has a strong understanding of the EYFS
- Has a good knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
- Is confident supporting and guiding other practitioners
- Has high expectations for the quality of care and education children receive
- Is organised, reliable and able to use their own initiative
- Communicates confidently and professionally with parents
- Works well as part of a team
- Is enthusiastic, positive and full of ideas
- Is ready to take on more responsibility and develop their Early Years career
Previous senior experience would be an advantage, but we would also love to hear from an experienced Level 3 practitioner who is ready to progress into their first senior position.
