Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Maths Teacher to join our team at our Stockport site. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality mathematics lessons, creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment, and helping our students achieve their full potential.
As a small specialist setting, we welcome applications from teachers who are able to teach an additional subject alongside Maths. Whilst this is not an essential requirement, the ability to deliver another curriculum area would be highly desirable and would provide greater flexibility in meeting the needs of our students.
Duties
As a teacher at APEX Specialist Education, you'll play one of the most vital roles in the development of our young people. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing an outstanding learning journey for our young people, adapting your teaching to meet each student's individual needs.
- Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality Maths lessons that inspire confidence and promote achievement.
- Where appropriate, delivering lessons in an additional subject area to support the wider curriculum.
- Creating and maintaining a calm, safe and purposeful learning environment where all students can succeed.
- Supporting the emotional wellbeing of students and embracing our commitment to educating the whole child.
- Building positive, trusting relationships with students through a consistent, trauma-informed approach.
- Becoming fully familiar with APEX Specialist Education's ethos, philosophy and policies, ensuring they are reflected in your daily practice.
- Monitoring, assessing and recording student progress, adapting teaching strategies where necessary to maximise outcomes.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers and external professionals to support student progress and wellbeing.
- Maintaining confidentiality at all times as a matter of professional practice.
