Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Branch Manager – Builders' Supplies to oversee daily branch operations and deliver excellent service to trade and commercial customers. The role will involve managing branch performance, coordinating sales and warehouse activities, supporting staff and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in builders' merchants, hardware, trade supplies, wholesale or distribution who is ready to take responsibility for a busy branch and contribute to its continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily branch operations, sales activities and warehouse functions.
- Lead, support and motivate branch staff to achieve operational and customer-service targets.
- Develop strong relationships with builders, contractors, tradespeople and commercial customers.
- Monitor stock levels, ordering, deliveries and inventory accuracy.
- Coordinate purchasing and supplier relationships to maintain product availability.
- Monitor branch sales, margins, costs and overall performance.
- Ensure orders and deliveries are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, housekeeping and operational compliance.
- Resolve customer issues and identify opportunities to increase sales and repeat business.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in builders' merchants, hardware, wholesale, distribution or a related trade environment.
- Previous experience supervising or managing a branch, store, warehouse or sales operation.
- Strong knowledge of building materials, hardware or trade supplies.
- Excellent leadership, communication and customer-service skills.
- Good commercial awareness with an understanding of sales, margins and stock control.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Confident using inventory, ordering, CRM and Microsoft Office systems.
- Full UK driving licence is desirable.
Pay: £2,917.00-£3,750.00 per month
