Job Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a Curtain side lorry to deliver goods across various locations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and excellent driving skills. The ideal applicant will have previous experience in commercial driving and delivery operations, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of service.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV lorry, predominantly with a Curtain side configuration, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies.
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, ensuring timely collection and delivery of goods.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
- Load and unload goods carefully, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with legal requirements.
- Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar heavy goods vehicles.
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving licence for HGV Class 2 vehicles.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for safe transportation.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage routes efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients, dispatchers, and team members.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as loading and unloading goods safely.
- Prior experience as a delivery driver is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided where necessary.
Pay: £15.00-£16.50 per hour
