Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging science lessons tailored to diverse SEMH student needs, including those with special educational requirements.
- Develop innovative experiments and activities that encourage hands-on learning and critical thinking.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and parents to create inclusive learning plans that accommodate individuals with disabilities or special needs.
- Maintain a safe classroom environment by adhering to safety protocols during experiments and activities.
- Support students’ overall development by integrating communication skills, tutoring, and social-emotional learning into daily instruction.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and advances in science education.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in teaching science at various levels, with a strong understanding of curriculum standards.
- Background in special education or experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and effectively to students of all ages.
- Experience working with children, including toddlers or young learners, is a plus.
- Knowledge of tutoring techniques that enhance student understanding and engagement.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan lessons that are both educational and stimulating.
