Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. The role involves supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence. Candidates should possess a genuine desire to improve the lives of others and have experience or interest in senior care, dementia care, or hospice support. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as required
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Manage behaviour management strategies for clients with dementia or other cognitive impairments
- Support with household chores and maintaining a clean, safe environment
- Drive clients to appointments or outings when needed (driving responsibilities)
- Monitor health status and report any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
Skills
- Experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home care environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient care, Alzheimer’s care, dementia support, and hospice care practices
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards seniors and vulnerable individuals
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Basic first aid knowledge and the ability to respond calmly in emergencies
- Valid driving licence for transporting clients as required
- Organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends if needed
