We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Administration Assistant to support the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, supporting month-end activities, and ensuring the smooth running of administrative functions across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process purchase invoices, supplier payments, and staff expenses accurately and in a timely manner.
- Raise sales invoices and credit notes as required.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation.
- Support credit control activities, including monitoring outstanding invoices and following up on overdue payments.
- Assist with VAT preparation and other financial reporting requirements.
- Support month-end and year-end finance processes.
- Prepare financial reports, spreadsheets, and reconciliations using Microsoft Excel.
- Maintain accounting systems and ensure data accuracy at all times.
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal departments regarding financial queries. and confidential approach when handling financial information.
- Experience supporting audits and compliance activities. a willingness to learn and develop. experience.
Education & Qualifications:
- AAT Level 2, Level 3 or currently studying towards an AAT qualification.
- 2+ years experience within a finance or accounts department.
- NVQ, Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Knowledge of accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or similar finance systems.
- Strong numerical and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Pay: £15.00 per hour
