Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and organised Streetlighting Works Coordinator to manage the ordering, planning, and organisation of streetlighting jobs. The role will support delivery teams by ensuring works are correctly scheduled, materials are ordered, and jobs are compliant with highways and client requirements.
This role would suit someone with a streetlighting background, a qualified electrician with highways experience, or someone familiar with HEA environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and organise streetlighting works (maintenance, renewals, faults, upgrades)
- Raise and manage job orders from clients and local authorities
- Coordinate operatives, subcontractors, and plant
- Order materials, columns, lanterns, brackets, and associated equipment
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery
- Ensure works comply with NHSS8, HEA guidance, and client specifications
- Track job progress and update internal systems and clients
- Support permit applications, traffic management coordination, and outages
- Resolve scheduling conflicts and site issues efficiently
Essential Requirements
- Experience in streetlighting, highways electrical works, or public lighting
- OR qualified electrician with proven streetlighting / highways experience
- Strong organisational and planning skills, Microsoft 365
- Understanding of highways environments and safety requirements
- Ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously
- Good communication skills (office-based and site-facing)
Desirable (but not essential)
- HEA (Highways Electrical Association) background
- Knowledge of G39,
- Experience working with local authorities
- Familiarity with job management or works scheduling systems
