Proofing & Drainage Engineer
Location: Caterham, Surrey (daily attendance at our depot required)
Salary: £39,000 per year, plus overtime and additional earnings

About Us
Pest Proof London is a specialist property proofing company carrying out high-quality proofing and drainage works across London and the South East. We work very differently from traditional pest control companies. Our engineers carry out practical building repairs, drainage work, proofing installations and property improvements to permanently prevent rodent entry.
We’re looking for someone who wants a long-term career rather than just another job. This is a position with genuine progression into surveying, management and eventually overseeing projects and other engineers.

This role would suit someone with experience in practical property maintenance or construction, such as:

Experience in pest control is not essential.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience confidently using hand and power tools.
- Experience working on domestic or commercial properties.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, punctual and professional.
- Comfortable working independently after training.
- Able to complete reports using a smartphone or tablet.
- Able to reliably attend our Caterham depot for an 8:00am start when required.
Physical Requirements
This is an active engineering role involving genuine manual work. Applicants should be comfortable with tasks such as:
- Lifting and carrying equipment.
- Safely lifting manhole covers (approximately 40kg using appropriate lifting techniques and equipment).
- Digging and excavation.
- Working outdoors in all weather.
- Crawling into confined spaces beneath floors and in lofts.
- Frequent kneeling, bending and climbing ladders.
Reasonable adjustments will be considered where appropriate.

Probation
Successful applicants will initially join on a 12-week probationary period. This allows both you and the company to ensure the role is the right long-term fit before confirming permanent employment.
