We're recruiting for an experienced Head Chef or strong Sous Chef to support a well-established hospitality venue near Yeovil for a 6-8 week assignment.
This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a senior kitchen leadership role, with the possibility of a handover and shadowing week alongside the current Head Chef before they commence an extended period of leave.

The Role
Working Wednesday to Sunday, 9:00am to 9:00pm, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen operation during the Head Chef's absence.
Duties will include:
- Managing all kitchen operations
- Menu planning and creation
- Ordering and supplier management
- Stock control and food cost management
- Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards
- Leading kitchen service and ensuring consistent food quality
- Kitchen administration and compliance
- Supporting, training and supervising junior kitchen staff
- Managing a Kitchen Porter and potentially a Commis Chef or Chef de Partie as the team develops
About You
To be successful, you'll need:
- Previous experience as a Head Chef or experienced Sous Chef
- A strong background within pubs, restaurants, gastro pubs or fresh-food venues
- Experience with menu development, ordering and stock management
- The ability to lead a small team and work independently
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A hands-on approach and passion for quality food
