About Wemyss Lodge
Wemyss Lodge is a long-established, welcoming nursing and complex care home located in Swindon, Wiltshire. We provide residential, dementia, nursing, and specialist complex care to up to 56 residents in a calm, compassionate setting. Our team works together to ensure everyone who lives here feels respected, supported, and valued — and that includes the important contribution of wellbeing services like hairdressing and holistic care.
About the Role
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Hairdresser to join our team on a part-time basis, offering 18 hours per week across three days (10am–4pm).
This isn’t just about cutting or styling hair — it’s about making our residents feel their best and offering moments of calm, confidence, and connection. When you’re not delivering hairdressing services, we’d love you to bring a holistic approach — offering hand massages, head massages, nail care, or gentle beauty treatments to enhance our residents’ wellbeing.
You’ll work closely with our care and activities team to support person-centred care and create uplifting experiences for residents.
What We’re Looking For
- A fully qualified Hairdresser with a recognised UK qualification, such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Hairdressing
- Experience working with older adults or within care settings is desirable
- A caring, gentle approach that values the individual needs of each resident
- Skills or interest in complementary therapies such as hand/foot massage, head massage, or basic beauty treatments (manicures, grooming)
- A good communicator with a professional and positive attitude
- Someone who works well independently but also enjoys being part of a supportive team
