About Us
We’re a small, friendly country pub serving high-quality, freshly prepared food. We have a solid and consistent trade, and with our new Head Chef joining the team, we’re looking for the right person to work alongside them, strengthen the kitchen and help us build on what we already do well.
The London Inn is a friendly country pub in St Neot, situated on the edge of Bodmin Moor. We’re around 7 miles from Liskeard and 9 miles from Bodmin, with easy access from the A30 via Colliford Lake and the A38 via the Carnglaze Caverns or the Two Waters Foot junction.
Unlike many seasonal businesses in the area, we benefit from a strong and consistent year-round trade, built around a loyal local customer base.
The Role
We’re looking for a reliable, hands-on Sous Chef or experienced Cook to support our Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
You might already be an experienced Sous Chef, a Chef de Partie ready to step up, or simply a good Cook looking for more responsibility.
Previous Sous Chef experience isn’t essential. Our Head Chef is happy to invest time in training and developing the right person.
For us, being a team player with a positive, can-do attitude is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook fresh food to a consistently high standard
- Work alongside the Head Chef to deliver smooth, efficient services
- Keep prep organised and the kitchen ready for service
- Maintain consistency, quality and presentation
- Support the day-to-day running and organisation of the kitchen
- Take responsibility for service when required
- Work closely with and support the rest of the kitchen team
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and allergen awareness
- Assist with stock control, rotation and reducing waste
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working in a professional kitchen
- A confident Cook who takes pride in their food
- A positive, can-do attitude and strong team ethic
- Reliable, hardworking and willing to get stuck in
- Calm and organised during busy services
- A good understanding of consistency and kitchen standards
- Willingness to learn, develop and take on responsibility
Whether you’re an established Sous Chef or ready to make the step up, we’re interested in finding the right person rather than the right job title.
