Drayton Motors is looking for a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to join our busy finance team at our Grimsby office.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in finance within a dynamic organisation and gain valuable experience in the motor trade industry. You’ll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day running of our accounts function, working alongside an experienced finance team and using a range of financial systems, including Keyloop.
About the Role
As an Accounts Assistant, you will provide essential support across our finance operations, with a particular focus on accounts payable, supplier payments, reconciliations and month-end processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Input and process supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
- Process supplier payments and assist with regular payment runs
- Review and maintain aged creditor accounts
- Raise and process bank payments
- Complete regular bank reconciliations
- Assist with month-end accounting procedures
- Respond to and resolve accounts-related queries
- Support the senior finance team with the preparation of monthly management accounts where required
- Carry out other reasonable duties in line with the requirements of the role
About You
We’re looking for someone who is organised, reliable and takes pride in getting the details right. You will ideally have:
- Strong data entry skills and excellent attention to detail
- An understanding of accounts payable processes
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
- A proactive approach and the ability to work independently
- The ability to work effectively as part of a wider finance team
- Previous experience in a similar accounts or finance role is advantageous, but not essential — full training will be provided for the right candidate
