HGV Driver – Forklift Trained
Location: Grantham Lincolnshire
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, with occasional flexibility required
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, safety-conscious HGV Driver to join our busy metal recycling operation. You will transport recyclable metal materials across the UK, operate a forklift/Moffett where required, and ensure all items are handled safely and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
· Safely operate HGV vehicles in line with legal, company and health and safety requirements.
· Deliver and collect recyclable metal materials promptly and professionally.
· Load, unload, handle and secure items safely, using a forklift where required.
· Complete daily vehicle checks, report defects and maintain accurate delivery documentation.
· Comply with drivers’ hours, tachograph and road transport regulations.
· Provide excellent service during deliveries and collections, including overnight stays when required.
What We’re Looking For
· Valid HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence, Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
· Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence/Certificate.
· Strong commitment to health and safety, particularly when handling metal and recyclable materials.
· Good understanding of UK road transport regulations.
· Flexible approach to working hours, overnight stays and business needs.
· Professional attitude with good communication and organisational skills.
Desirable Experience
· Experience in multi-drop, nationwide delivery or metal recycling environments.
· Experience handling a range of loads and materials.
· Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
