Housing Disrepair Fee Earner (Litigation)
Location: Bolton, with hybrid and flexible working across the North West
Hours: Full time, 9 to 5
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.
The role
You will run your own caseload of litigated housing disrepair files, acting for tenants, from Particulars of Claim through to settlement or trial, supported by an expanding team.
What you will do
- Run a caseload of litigated housing disrepair claims from Particulars of Claim to settlement
- Draft pleadings, witness statements and other statements of case
- Prepare trial bundles and manage disclosure
- Handle directions, case management and court deadlines, keeping limitation under control
- Negotiate and settle claims, including through Part 36 and Tomlin orders
- Instruct counsel and experts where needed
- Keep clients clearly updated throughout, many of whom are vulnerable
What we are looking for
- At least 12 months of general litigation experience and at least 12 months of direct housing disrepair experience
- Confidence drafting Particulars of Claim and running litigated files independently
- A sound understanding of the litigation process and court procedure
- Strong client care, particularly with vulnerable clients
- Experience with a case management system, with Proclaim desirable
- Open to qualified solicitors, CILEX and experienced paralegals
