Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Youth Workers/Coaches to support and inspire young people within our community programmes. This role involves engaging with children and teenagers through mentoring, teaching, coaching and organising activities that promote personal development and positive behaviour. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for youth work and coaching, experience working with children, and a commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive environment. All positions are paid, including internship opportunities, offering valuable experience in youth development.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging activities and programmes tailored to the needs of young people, fostering their personal growth and social skills.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to children and teenagers, encouraging positive behaviour and self-confidence.
- Support the organisation of events, workshops, and recreational activities that promote teamwork, creativity, and learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external organisations to ensure programme objectives are met effectively.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safeguarding policies and reporting any concerns promptly.
- Assist in developing customised plans for individuals requiring specialised support or education.
- Promote inclusive participation by encouraging involvement from all young people regardless of background or ability.
Requirements
- Prior experience in teaching, youth work, or mentoring roles is highly desirable.
- Experience working with children, including those with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND).
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan engaging activities suitable for various age groups.
- Excellent communication skills to build rapport with young people, parents, and team members.
- A genuine passion for supporting youth development and fostering a positive environment.
- Ability to work flexibly according to programme schedules, including some evenings or weekends if required.
- Relevant safeguarding training or willingness to undertake such training upon appointment is essential.
