Hours: 26–30 hours per week during term time | 29.75–33.75 per week hours during non-term time

Job Description
The Disability Resource centre is assisting with the recruitment of a compassionate and reliable Carer / Personal Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a 13-year-old girl with complex needs.
She has a rare genetic condition which impacts her mobility, vision, and daily living. We are looking for someone who is patient, encouraging, adaptable, and able to create a positive and engaging environment where she feels safe, supported, and happy.
This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys working with children and making a genuine difference in a young person’s daily life.
Main Duties
- Preparing an after-school snack
- Administering and monitoring medication
- Supporting with feeding during mealtimes
- Encouraging play, interaction, and fun activities
- Assisting with hoisting, moving and handling
- Supporting with personal care and hygiene
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Supporting outdoor activities and outings

Working Pattern
· Tuesday: 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm
· Wednesday: 4:00 pm – 6:30 pm
· Saturday: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
· Sunday: 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Hours may vary during school holidays.
A 10-hour night shift will be required once you are confident with the role and tasks.

Training
Full training will be provided, including diabetes care training. You will also have the opportunity to learn how to drive a wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
Experience
Previous care or support work experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be given. Experience working with children or individuals with additional needs is desirable.
