We are looking for a reliable, organised and hardworking person to join our steelwork manufacturing team. This is a varied role involving stores duties, deliveries and light workshop work.
Main Duties
- Organising deliveries of materials coming into our stores and ensuring items are stored correctly.
- Picking and preparing materials and steel components from picking lists ready for jobs and deliveries.
- Keeping the stores and material areas organised and tidy.
- Loading and organising steel components ready to go out for delivery.
- Driving a 3.5-tonne pickup to make local deliveries and collections.
- Checking that the correct materials and components are loaded before leaving.
- Carrying out light workshop duties when required.
- Assisting with the preparation and painting of steel brackets and components.
- Helping the workshop and stores team with general duties as required.
What We Are Looking For
The successful applicant should be:
- Reliable and punctual.
- Well organised with good attention to detail.
- Comfortable working from picking lists and checking quantities.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willing to carry out a mixture of stores, driving and workshop duties.
- Comfortable handling steel components and materials.
- A safe and responsible driver with a suitable driving licence for a 3.5-tonne vehicle.
- Previous experience in a steelwork, manufacturing, warehouse or stores environment would be useful but is not essential.
Working Hours
Option 1
- Monday–Thursday: 7:30am–5:30pm
- Friday: 7:30am–5:00pm
Option 2
- Monday–Thursday: 6:00am–4:00pm
- Friday: 6:00am–3:30pm
This is a hands-on, varied position suited to someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in keeping materials, deliveries and components organised correctly.
Pay: From £15.00 per hour
