Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Junior Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production, kitchen management, and culinary arts. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations
- Supervise junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Prepare ingredients and cook dishes according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality
- Manage food production processes, including portion control, plating, and presentation of dishes
- Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory management, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
- Enforce food safety protocols throughout all stages of food handling and preparation
- Support the training of new team members in culinary techniques and safety procedures
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Demonstrable supervising experience or team management skills
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation standards
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
