Job Description
Integrated Case Management are currently recruiting for a Rehabilitation Assistant to work alongside our client in their own home. We have 12 to 16 hours per week, with the opportunity for overtime at weekends and for supporting our clients on trips abroad.
Hours/shifts available:
- Tuesdays 4-6 hours from 10am
- Wednesdays 4-6 hours from 10am
- Fridays 2.30pm-6.30pm
The successful candidate:
We are able to offer a funded DBS, a competitive salary of £20 per hour in the week and £22 at weekends, fully funded mandatory and specialised training and a pension plan.
The client:
X lives in Eastbourne with his family. He loves football and plays for local clubs and also undertakes some coaching. He works with a established therapy team and has a gym at home to support his physical development and skills.
He is developing his independent skills, particularly cooking and using his car to access leisure activities.
The role:
X is looking for a Rehabilitation Assistant to work with him and his therapy team to support his continued development in terms of his independence skills, vocational and work skills and social opportunities.
X’s home has been adapted to meet his needs and he now requires support to be able to manage his laundry, meal preparation and light domestic chores independently. He is also keen to increase his physical skills to be able to undertake some triathlons so will need to work on his stamina, cycling, running and swimming.
X is also keen to travel and would need a Rehabilitation Assistant who would on occasion be able to support him on short trips in this country and abroad.
Full training in all aspects of our clients needs will be given and you will be fully supported by his Case Manager and therapy team.
About you:
You will have excellent communication skills and have experience supporting a young person in the community.
You will be kind, positive, reliable with good timekeeping. Have a sense of humour, be fun, energetic and enthusiastic in the role, and a team player.
You will maintain client confidentiality and build a relationship of trust with our client and his family.
You will be confident in working with a therapy team on specific physical and therapy goals, and be able to support the client’s development of his independence.
