Overview
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Multi-Skilled Repairs Operative to carry out day-to-day responsive repairs and maintenance across Local Authority properties. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing a range of general repairs across multiple trades, including carpentry, plastering, tiling, mould works and decorating.
The role involves working independently across occupied/void properties, diagnosing and resolving maintenance issues efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship. You will be required to manage your daily workload effectively, meet service level targets, and ensure all works are completed safely and professionally.
Duties
- Carry out day-to-day responsive repairs across Local Authority properties
- Replacing or repairing skirting boards, architraves, and internal door frames
- Installing and adjusting kitchen units, worktops, and cupboard doors
- Repairing or replacing internal doors, handles, locks, and hinges
- Identifying and fixing minor plumbing issues such as leaks, dripping taps, and blocked sinks
- Carrying out patch plastering and making good, damaged walls or ceilings
- Carry out mould remedial works.
- Completing wall tiling repairs, including grouting and sealing
- Painting and decorating to a professional finish following repair works
- Ensuring all repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
- Working in occupied properties with sensitivity to residents’ needs and privacy
- Reporting any further works, safeguarding concerns, or property issues beyond scope
- Deliver excellent customer service while working in residents' homes
- Manage daily workload efficiently to meet service level targets
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Own tools
- Ability to manage workload effectively
- Excellent customer service skills, with experience working in occupied homes
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practice
Pay: £34,000.00-£43,000.00 per year
