Overview
Lore Lovis is a London-based contemporary jewellery brand looking for a talented Junior Jewellery Designer to support the development of new products and collections.
Working closely with the Founder, you will translate creative briefs and visual references into distinctive jewellery concepts, exploring multiple design directions before refining selected ideas into wearable, commercially viable pieces.
This is a hands-on product design role suited to a designer with strong creative thinking, an eye for form, proportion and detail, and the ability to develop ideas from initial sketches through to refined design concepts.
We welcome recent graduates and early-career designers with a strong jewellery design portfolio. CAD skills are desirable but not essential.
Responsibilities
- Develop original jewellery concepts from creative briefs and visual references.
- Create initial sketches and visual concepts for pendants, necklaces, rings, earrings and bracelets.
- Explore multiple design directions for each brief rather than developing only one solution.
- Refine selected concepts through feedback and design reviews with the Founder.
- Consider form, proportion, scale, wearability, materials and construction throughout the design process.
- Develop clear design drawings and specifications to communicate concepts for CAD development and manufacturing.
- Collaborate with CAD designers and manufacturers to ensure designs can be translated effectively into production.
- Review CAD models, prototypes and samples and recommend design refinements where required.
- Research relevant materials, finishes, construction methods and contemporary jewellery references.
- Maintain organised design files, iterations and approved versions throughout the product development process.
Experience
- Degree or relevant training in Jewellery Design, Product Design, 3D Design, or a related discipline.
- Strong jewellery design and concept development skills, supported by a portfolio.
- Ability to communicate design ideas clearly through hand sketches, digital drawings or visual concepts.
- Good understanding of form, proportion, scale and wearability in jewellery design.
- Awareness of jewellery materials, construction methods and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to explore multiple creative directions and develop concepts through feedback and refinement.
- Strong attention to detail and an understanding of how design decisions affect the finished product.
- Jewellery CAD skills using Rhino, MatrixGold, RhinoGold or equivalent software are desirable but not essential.
- 3D modelling and rendering skills are an advantage.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage design files and iterations.
- Recent graduates and early-career designers with strong portfolios are encouraged to apply.
Pay: £15.00-£20.00 per hour
