About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Service Engineer with a strong mechanical and pneumatic background to join our growing team.
This is a varied role combining field service activities, including installation, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of specialist food depositing machinery at customer sites throughout the UK and overseas with workshop-based machine assembly.
The successful candidate will be a practical, customer-focused engineer who enjoys problem-solving and takes pride in delivering a high standard of workmanship. While the role is predominantly mechanical based, a basic understanding of electrical systems would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical and pneumatic faults efficiently.
- Carry out planned servicing, preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
- Install, commission and test equipment at customer sites.
- Complete service reports and technical documentation accurately.
- Deliver customer training on the safe operation and routine maintenance of equipment.
- Plan and manage your own service schedule to meet customer requirements.
- Work closely with the Engineering and Production teams to identify product improvements and report recurring issues.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company health and safety procedures.
- Assemble and build a range of food depositing machinery within our workshop.
About you
You will have:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a mechanical engineering or service engineering role.
- Strong mechanical and pneumatic fault-finding skills.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals.
- Excellent communication skills with a professional and customer-focused approach.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload.
- Willing to travel throughout the UK and internationally.
- Experience working at customer sites within the UK or internationally.
- A full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
- Previous experience installing or servicing food processing or automated machinery.
Working Pattern
- Based at our Head Office in Hull.
- Regular travel to customer sites across the UK.
- Occasional overseas travel.
- Flexibility to work outside normal hours when required for installations, commissioning or emergency customer support.
