Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Cook/Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. The ideal applicant will have a strong background in food preparation and kitchen operations, with a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes according to recipes and quality standards
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Assist in menu planning and develop new ideas to enhance our offerings
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing, sanitising, and storing utensils and equipment
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management to ensure ingredients are fresh and available
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
- Serve food efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and customer service
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times, including proper handling of food allergens and dietary restrictions
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene practices
- Culinary experience with the ability to prepare a variety of dishes confidently
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Previous experience in serving or front-of-house roles is advantageous but not essential
