About the Role
Cardiff University Ladies AFC is seeking two enthusiastic Head Coaches to lead our 2nd Team and 3rd Team for the 2026–2027 season. This is an exciting opportunity for passionate coaches who are committed to developing players, creating a positive team culture, and contributing to a thriving university football programme.
You'll work closely with the club committee and coaching team to support player development both on and off the pitch while helping shape a competitive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver pre-season training and preparation.
- Plan and deliver engaging weekly coaching sessions.
- Collaborate on squad selection, recruitment, and player development.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive team environment.
- Manage the team during BUCS fixtures.
- Work with the wider club to support its development and community initiatives.
Essential Requirements
- FA Level 2 Coaching Qualification (or currently working towards it), or equivalent coaching experience.
- Strong passion for player development and team building.
- Experience coaching at grassroots, youth, or university level.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a volunteer-led university club.
Season Details
Leagues
- 2nd Team – BUCS Western Tier 2B
- 3rd Team – BUCS Western Tier 3B
Training
- 2nd Team: Mondays, 7:00–8:00 pm at Cardiff University Training Village (Talybont)
- 3rd Team: Monday evenings (time/location to be confirmed)
Matches
- Wednesday afternoons (home and away BUCS fixtures)
Locations
- Cardiff University Training Village (Talybont)
- Cardiff University Sports Fields (Llanrumney)
- Fixtures across South Wales and the South West
