Electrical Engineer Apprentice (Control Panel Building)
Location: Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, worked over 5 days, office/workshop based
Salary: Competitive apprenticeship salary
Contract: Apprenticeship (typically 2-3 years, subject to the apprenticeship provider)
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for engineering and problem solving to begin a rewarding career in industrial electrical engineering.
Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll gain practical, hands-on experience while completing an industry-recognised apprenticeship. You'll learn how electrical control panels are designed, assembled,wired, tested and commissioned for a wide variety of industrial applications.
No previous industry experience is required—we're looking for the right attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

As our business continues to grow, we're looking for an enthusiastic Electrical Engineer Apprentice to join our team and develop into a highly skilled Control Panel Engineer.
What You'll Be Doing
As an Electrical Engineer Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced engineers and learn how to build and test electrical control panels used in a wide range of industries.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Building electrical control panels
- Wiring electrical components using engineering drawings
- Learning how to read electrical schematics and diagrams
- Using hand and power tools safely
- Testing completed control panels to make sure they work correctly
- Helping to identify and fix faults
- Keeping your work area clean, organised and safe
- Working as part of the engineering team on a variety of projects
- Following company quality and health & safety procedures
- Developing your skills through practical work and your apprenticeship training
As your experience grows, you'll take on more responsibility and learn more advanced aspects of electrical engineering and industrial automation.

Essential Entry Requirements
Applicants must have achieved a minimum of:
- GCSE Grade 5 (or Grade B equivalent) in English, Mathematics and Physics
Applications that do not meet these minimum academic requirements will not be considered.
Desirable (but not essential)
- Fundamental electrical knowledge
- Experience using hand tools
- Good IT skills
- Driving License or Provisional License with Exams booked.
