Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Night Trunk Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods during night shifts, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism. Duties
- Operate double deck trailers and other commercial vehicles to transport goods during night hours.
- Ensure the secure loading and unloading of cargo, adhering to safety protocols.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet schedules and optimise fuel consumption.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs.
- Comply with all traffic laws, company policies, and health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery times or any unforeseen delays.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver experience.
- Valid driving licence suitable for operating flatbed lorries or similar commercial vehicles.
- Knowledge of flatbed operations and secure cargo handling.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently.
- Ability to work independently during night shifts, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.
