Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Support Worker to provide specialised assistance to children and young people with special educational needs. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils requiring additional support, fostering an inclusive environment that promotes learning, development, and well-being. Duties
- Provide personalised support to children with special educational needs, ensuring their individual requirements are met effectively.
- Assist in implementing tailored learning programmes, including those for children with autism or other disabilities.
- Support children during classroom activities, breaks, and specialised sessions such as speech or occupational therapy.
- Foster positive behaviour and social interaction among pupils, encouraging confidence and independence.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to develop and review support strategies.
- Assist with toddler care where applicable, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for younger children.
- Monitor progress and behaviour, documenting observations to inform ongoing support plans.
- Promote inclusive practices within the school environment, ensuring all children feel valued and supported.
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other disabilities is highly desirable.
- Prior teaching or support work within special education settings is preferred.
- Experience working with children across various age groups, including toddlers, is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with pupils, colleagues, and parents.
- A compassionate approach combined with patience and resilience when supporting children with diverse needs.
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques tailored to SEN pupils is beneficial.
- Relevant qualifications in special education or childcare are desirable but not essential; a genuine passion for supporting children's development is crucial.

Pay: £25,420.00-£37,123.86 per year
