Help Keep One of the New Forest's Most Beautiful Hotels at Its Best
At Master Builders House, no two days are ever the same.
From our historic hotel and award-winning pub to holiday cottages, beautiful gardens and riverside setting, we're looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager who takes genuine pride in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
If you're someone who enjoys solving problems, fixing things properly, spotting issues before they become problems, and taking ownership of your work, we'd love to hear from you.
This is a hands-on role where you'll have real responsibility and the opportunity to make a visible difference every single day.
What You'll Be Doing
As our Maintenance Manager, you'll be responsible for keeping our hotel, cottages and grounds looking their absolute best.
Your role will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance to protect our buildings and equipment.
- Responding quickly to day-to-day repairs across guest bedrooms, public areas, kitchens, bars and cottages.
- Completing a variety of maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, decorating, carpentry, furniture repairs, painting and general building maintenance.
- Keeping our beautiful grounds, gardens and external areas safe, tidy and welcoming.
- Managing compliance including fire safety checks, Legionella testing and statutory maintenance records.
- Using our online maintenance and compliance systems to ensure everything stays up to date.
- Working alongside our Reception, Housekeeping, Kitchen and Management teams to minimise disruption for guests.
- Supporting refurbishment projects and helping improve our properties year after year.
- Looking after maintenance stores, tools and equipment.
- Helping us maintain exceptional standards across every part of the business.
What We're Looking For
We're after someone who:
- Loves practical, hands-on work.
- Has experience in general property maintenance or a similar role.
- Can turn their hand to a wide variety of maintenance tasks.
- Is organised and able to prioritise their workload.
- Takes pride in doing jobs properly rather than just quickly.
- Is proactive and spots problems before guests do.
- Understands the importance of health & safety and compliance.
- Enjoys working independently but is also a great team player.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who genuinely cares about maintaining a fantastic environment for both our guests and our team.
