We're working with a Local Authority seeking an experienced Team Manager to lead their dedicated Children's Disability Team on a 12-month contract. Based in East Staffordshire, you'll oversee services across East Staffordshire and Tamworth, leading a passionate team committed to improving outcomes for children and young people with complex disabilities.

About the Service
The Children's Disability Team provides specialist support to children and young people with severe and profound disabilities, ensuring they receive the right support at the right time.
Working closely with partners including special schools, Continuing Healthcare, CAMHS, Community Nursing Teams, SEND Services and a dedicated Occupational Therapy Team, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality, child-centred services that make a genuine difference to families across the county.
The Role
As Team Manager, you'll provide strong leadership and professional oversight to a skilled team of Social Workers and Family Practitioners, ensuring children receive safe, effective and outcome-focused support.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing the day-to-day operation of the Children's Disability Team.
- Overseeing the safe allocation of work and ensuring high-quality social work practice.
- Providing professional leadership, supervision, support and motivation to practitioners.
- Ensuring statutory responsibilities relating to safeguarding and children's social care are met.
- Driving continuous service improvement through audits, quality assurance and reflective practice.
- Leading on performance, compliance and professional standards across the team.
- Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to achieve the best outcomes for children and families.
- Contributing to local, regional and multi-agency forums to influence best practice.
- Supporting the development of staff through effective supervision, coaching and learning opportunities.
About You
We're looking for an experienced leader who is passionate about achieving positive outcomes for children with disabilities.
You'll have:
- Significant experience working at a senior level within a Local Authority Children's Services team.
- Previous experience managing Social Workers within a Children's Social Care setting.
- Strong knowledge of Children with Disabilities services and the systems impacting children and families.
- A thorough understanding of relevant children's legislation, safeguarding and statutory responsibilities.
- Social Work England registration (essential).
