Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled IT Manager to oversee and coordinate the organisation’s information technology infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing server environments, network security, disaster recovery plans, and supporting the organisation’s technological needs. This role requires strong leadership, organisational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of modern IT systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability of our IT services.
Duties
- Manage and maintain server environments including Windows Server, Linux, VMware, vSphere, and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Oversee network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, Cisco routers, firewalls, and network support systems.
- Implement and monitor information security protocols to safeguard organisational data against threats.
- Develop and execute disaster recovery plans to minimise downtime and data loss.
- Supervise technical support teams providing desktop support, remote access solutions, and troubleshooting assistance.
- Utilise tools such as SolarWinds, SharePoint, ServiceNow, Jira, Active Directory, DHCP, IIS, Azure, AWS and Microsoft Office suite for system management and project coordination.
- Lead projects related to network engineering, system upgrades, software development initiatives and infrastructure enhancements.
- Analyse system performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimise network operations.
- Ensure compliance with ITIL standards and organisational policies through effective management practices.
- Provide leadership in supervising staff members; organise training sessions to enhance team skills in areas such as network security and systems engineering.
Requirements
- Proven experience in managing complex IT environments with a focus on server management and network security.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking including LAN/WAN architecture, Cisco routers, firewall configuration, DHCP, IIS and remote access software.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure alongside virtualisation technologies like VMware vSphere.
- Experience with Active Directory management, Microsoft Windows Server (including Microsoft PowerPoint & Excel), SharePoint and SQL databases.
- Demonstrable expertise in disaster recovery planning and implementation of information security measures.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Leadership qualities with previous supervising or management experience in an IT setting.
- Analytical skills necessary for system analysis and problem-solving within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. Pay: £30,765.00-£38,765.00 per year
