Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a Counter Assistant to join our Daybrook team. The successful candidate will be looking after both trade and retail customers and ideally have previous experience working with both within a Builders Merchants environment.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday (7.30 am to 5.00 pm) and 25 Saturdays (7.30 am to 12.00 pm)
What you'll need:
- Previous experience working within a Builders Merchants, ideally in Counter Sales
- Previous experience with Merlin would be useful but not essential
- Extensive knowledge of building materials is essential
- Great customer service skills are a must
What you'll be doing:
- Interacting with both trade and retail customers
- Processing cash and credit card sales
- Supporting customers with their enquiries about our products
- Replenishing stock in the shop
- Organising displays to maximise sales
- Making sales calls in quieter periods
- The successful candidate will also provide support to the Tool Hire Desk as needed, including handling incoming calls, responding to customer enquiries, and completing basic hire transactions once the appropriate training has been provided.
