Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our Kitchen Production team. The ideal candidate will have culinary experience in a similar role, and a dedication to delivering exceptional food quality. This role involves overseeing food preparation, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. The Chef will play a vital role in inspiring the kitchen team to achieve excellence. The role predominately relates to the cooking of sauces, and cooking meat & poultry, and ensuring meals are produced to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Ensure high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including New Product Development, managing inventory, and maintaining cleanliness;
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with recipes and quality standards
- Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices
- Manage staff schedules, delegate tasks, and provide training to optimise team performance
- Monitor food costs and minimise waste through efficient utilisation of ingredients
- Maintain a positive and professional working environment that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement
Skills
- Experience in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques are essential;
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead staff effectively
- In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hospitality settings
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Exceptional culinary skills across a variety of cuisines and styles
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management
- Leadership qualities that inspire confidence and foster a collaborative work atmosphere
