General duties
Ø Cutting mixing and preparing fruit and ingredients according to plan
Ø Baking products ready for finishing
Ø Assisting the Production Supervisor with any other tasks as required
Product knowledge and food quality
Ø To observe Blackbird’s core values (Quality, Freshness Service and Hygiene) and the 6 senses
Ø To communicate effectively with the rest of the team to prevent items from running out by being proactive in stock replenishment
Ø To communicate effectively with the rest of the team to prevent items from running out by being proactive in ingredients replenishment
Ø To produce the full range of products to the highest standard using the company’s recipe specifications and that all finished food products are of a high standard, in both quality and freshness
Ø Check production schedule to determine the variety and quantity of goods to make.
Ø Measure and mix ingredients following recipes.
Ø Cut, peel, and prepare ingredients for cake and tart fillings.
Ø Measures ingredients, using measuring cups and spoons.
Ø Mix icing and other toppings and decorate cakes, pastries, and other baked goods.
Ø Use a variety of kitchen tools, including electric mixers, pans, rolling pins, and cutting tools.
Standards
Ø Ensure all working areas are kept clean and tidy at all times, leaving the area organized accordingly at the end of each shift, clean as you go
Ø Ensure correct uniform standards are worn at work and personal hygiene is maintained to the highest level
Ø Work cleanly, safely and hygienically at all times
Ø Ensure proper hygiene procedures are followed, with regular cleaning of equipment
