Purpose/Objective:
Working closely with the EHS, Facilities & Maintenance (EHSFM) Supervisor to develop, implement and maintain new and existing management systems, strategies & site based projects to meet company objectives such as PMS, PTW, RA’s and Control of Contractors.
By leading and driving the team improvements, this position entails everyday maintenance and repair of light manufacturing equipment, working with both external and internal parties to deliver a customer focussed service to varying company depts.
The ideal candidate will be a dedicated team player, foresee company needs, have an innovative mindset and challenge the status quo. They will possess basic engineering workshop skills, hands-on mechanical capability and experience completing fault diagnosis to support and improve the PMS system, plus experience of air, hydraulic, and water services. A level of electrical and/ or welding expertise would be a distinct advantage.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
· Support management in carrying out the organisation’s EHS and F&M strategies;
· Organise & conduct the delivery of planned and un-planned maintenance & repairs for the building and plant/machinery
· Dept. administrative
· Research potential suitable system solutions as required
· Complete training where required
· Be proxy to the EHS, Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor
· Work at height as required
· Play a key role in maintaining the facility’s essential services and infrastructure. This will include related EHS aspects
· Conduct planned tool changes as required by production
Skills and Abilities:
· Reasonable working knowledge and hands-on experience of electrical, air, hydraulic, and mechanical machinery within a production environment.
· Be able to interpret circuit diagrams and engineering drawings.
· Basic machine shop skills (lathe and milling) are desirable, along with FLT operation.
· IT skills (word, excel, power point)
· Clean driving license

Person Specification:
Working directly & indirectly with multiple departments and developing great working relationships is critical for this role and is suitable to confident communicators with a combination of analytical thinking for deep diving and a creative mindset to see ideas through to implementation. The role entails acting as proxy to the EHSFM Supervisor so the successful candidate must have a great communication style suitable & adaptable across all levels of the business.
The successful candidate will be a reliable, responsible team player and be able to collaborate across department functions. They need to be technically competent with a methodical and systematic approach to fault diagnosis and general problem solving. They will have a ‘can do’ positive mindset and be POC for any OOH work required to meet company goals.
Qualifications/Experience:
An experienced technician able to work with the minimum of supervision within a busy manufacturing environment, whose experiences match 3 or more of the below;
· Electrician
· Power Press and mould tool setting (Vacuum, Compression and/or Injection)
· Welding
· Mechanical Engineering
· PLC/ PLD
Candidates from the glass fibre boat building industry, automotive assembly, electronics pick and place, or a cannery or bottling plant would also be considered.
