We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team of self-employed drivers working in and around Teesside. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with previous driving experience who enjoy working independently and providing excellent customer service.
Duties
- You can either rent a van from the company or provide your own van (3mtrs plus).
- Plan delivery routes to optimise efficiency and meet scheduled deadlines.
- Load and unload items, sometimes requiring heavy lifting, ensuring items are secure during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any unforeseen delays.
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including delivery logs and receipts.
- Maintain a professional appearance and behaviour when interacting with clients and colleagues.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role ,but this isn't essential.
- Valid driver’s licence suitable for the vehicle type (e.g., car, van).
- Knowledge of local roads and traffic regulations within the area of operation.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential.
A responsible attitude towards safety and punctuality is essential for success in this role.
