Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Workers to provide high-quality support to individuals in their own homes. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for others and demonstrate a strong commitment to patient wellbeing. Experience in care, dementia, Alzheimer's, end of life, or general caregiving is highly desirable. Duties
- Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support
- Provide specialised care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's, ensuring their safety and comfort
- Support patients with medication administration following prescribed protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Engage in behaviour management strategies to promote positive interactions and minimise distress
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Drive clients to appointments or outings when required, ensuring safe transportation
- Offer emotional support and companionship to enhance mental wellbeing
- Respond promptly to emergencies using first aid skills when necessary
- Document care activities accurately in accordance with organisational policies
Skills
- Proven experience in home care, or home care environments
- Strong knowledge of patient care procedures including medication administration.
- Familiarity with dementia, Alzheimer's, end of life care ,
- Excellent caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards clients.
- Good organisational skills for meal preparation and daily routines
- Valid driving licence .
- Care qualification, (care certificate, Nvq qualification), willingness to undertake training is expected
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
