To prolong the life cycle of all handbags lovingly and expertly. In doing so, we nurture sustainability, whilst proudly acting as a gatekeeper and guard on the luxury handbag market.
We buy, sell, and restore designer handbags, restoring over 700 bags each month including some of the most expensive handbags in the world, alongside buying and selling over £12M of designer handbags across our stores and eCommerce website since launching the service in 2016.
Working with some of the leading fashion houses and prestigious auction houses as well as being recommended by Vouge, Tatler, Cosmopolitan, Vanity Fair and Grazia, we are looking for strong candidate to join our Head Office Team.
The Role
We are looking for a degree educated creative to join our Artisan team in repairing and restoring designer handbags both for customers and the brands themselves. Working with all designer handbags from Coach to Hermes on a direct to consumer basis and the likes of Burberry, Bulgari and Celine directly on their aftercare and repair services. Although it is preferred to have experience in stitch work with leather all training as provided, over a three year period (on average) Artisans are trained on a complex range of services and brands/models.
Progression with in the role includes advancing to Artian level, Senior Artisan Level, Technical Lead and gaining a specialist skill such as working with exotics or becoming an expert in Louis Vuitton replacement work.
Duties and Responsibilities
An Artisan is responsible for the completion of all cleaning and repair work to Handbags on a direct to consumer, and business to business basis as well as items for our Marketplace. Completing work to the appropriate standards and within timescale. An Artisan will work on items with in and up to the maximum complexity their level allows and ensuring all items they handle process through both the operational processes and technology system require. The Clinic should be producing high quality repairs within timescale, ensuring items waiting in the “queue” are stored and managed accordingly.
An Artisan will support the Clinic being a clean and safe environment, following Health and Safety requirements, ensuring products are stored correctly, equipment is handled correctly and the space remains clean and suitable for work environment.
Including but not limited to:-
- Carrying out Artisanal work on any item/s required to a high standard to achieve company goals – meeting or exceeding personal targets
- Supporting research into new products, techniques and methods to improve our services
- Feeding back key information for the Tech Team including but not limited to - ensuring the times quoted in the planning system match that of the time taken to carry out the work.
- Working with Technical Leads and Principal Artisans to continuously improve their development and skill level
- Ensuring all data and processes into the systems we use are input correctly and maintained.
- Ensuring all bags are handled stored correctly during and after repair/cleaning
- Feeding back to Principal Artisans regarding the maintenance of machinery and tools with in the Clinic
- Following and reporting any issues regarding Health and Safety for Clinic
- Supporting Senior Artisans, Principal Artisans or Clinic and Warehouse Manager with adhoc tasks
