We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced Lead Football Coach to join Football Futures and our expanding coaching team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about player development and wants to play a key role in delivering high-quality coaching across our academy centres, schools, and advanced programmes.
At Football Futures, in order for our players to fully develop and progress within the football game, we must provide coaches that are experienced and qualified to a high level. This is paramount to help every individual player progress on their football journey. Each Football Futures coach must not only be able to demonstrate and teach every technique shown, but must share the Football Futures passion and philosophy set out. We have established some of the best coaches in the county, who have a wide range of knowledge and experience in the professional game. At our Academy centres we set down that each coach creates a professional environment for our players, making each session as high intensity as possible, giving them the tools to support their passion of becoming a professional footballer.
As a Lead Coach, you'll work with players of all abilities, helping them develop technically, tactically, physically, and mentally while creating a positive and inspiring learning environment.
Full clean driving licence so you can get to and from sessions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead coaching sessions across our Academy Centres in Whitstable and Thanet.
- Deliver engaging football sessions within our partner primary schools, including:
- Curriculum PE provision
- Lunchtime clubs
- After-school clubs
- Deliver academy training on:
- Monday evenings – Development Centre - Whitstable
- Wednesday evenings – Thanet Advanced Academy - Sandwich
- Friday evenings – Whitstable Advanced Academy - Whitstable
- Deliver high-quality 1-to-1 coaching sessions in Whitstable.
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate, player-centred training sessions.
- Monitor player progress and provide constructive feedback to players and parents.
- Maintain excellent standards of professionalism, safeguarding, and organisation.
- Support the continued growth and development of the academy.

What We're Looking For
Essential:
- FA Level 2 / UEFA C Licence (or working towards UEFA C)
- Experience coaching children of varying ages and abilities.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- A positive attitude with a passion for developing young footballers.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- FA Safeguarding Children Certificate.
- FA Emergency First Aid qualification.
Ability Skills & Knowledge:
- Able to build a strong rapport with children
- Able to work as part of a coaching team and the ability to motivate others
- Understanding implications of long-term player development and how to develop young players
- Excellent organisation and time management skills. A dynamic, confident communicator whilst able to adapt style and approach as and when required
Desirable:
- UEFA C Licence or above.
- Experience working within academy or development football.
- Experience delivering school football provision.
- Experience coaching 1-to-1 technical sessions.
