Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Vac Tanker Driver Operator specialising in drainage services. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy goods vehicles equipped with vacuum tankers, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation and disposal of drainage waste. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle operation, maintenance, and safety procedures, alongside technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems. Duties
- Safely operate HGV vacuum tanker lorries to transport drainage waste to designated disposal sites.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on vehicles and equipment to ensure operational safety and compliance with regulations.
- Assist with the setup, connection, and disconnection of hoses and other equipment necessary for drainage operations.
- Perform minor repairs or adjustments using hand tools, power tools
- Utilise mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues with vehicle systems, including electrical components.
- Support excavation activities when necessary, employing excavators or other plant machinery.
- Maintain accurate logs of journeys, waste disposal records, and vehicle inspections in accordance with company policies.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations during all operational activities, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Skills
- Proven experience operating HGV lorries, preferably with vacuum tanker systems.
- Competence in using hand tools, power tools
- Strong understanding of health and safety protocols within the drainage and waste management industry.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to complete documentation accurately and promptly.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: £14.50-£15.50 per hour
