We are currently recruiting dedicated and reliable Domiciliary Care Workers to join our growing team.
Overall Responsibilities
- Work in the best interests of the company and service users to deliver a high standard of personal care.
- Assist in maintaining a high-quality service in line with company policies, contractual agreements, and the National Minimum Standards under the Care Standards Act 2000.
- Meet and exceed the care needs of all service users while working effectively with families, friends, and significant others.
- Maintain professionalism, effective communication, honesty, and flexibility at all times.
General Responsibilities
- Follow instructions from Care Managers, Coordinators, and other senior staff.
- Deliver all personal care duties according to the individual service user’s care plan and risk assessments.
- Safely prompt medication as directed.
- Competently use equipment such as hoists, wheelchairs, stair lifts, and continence management tools.
- Provide accurate, detailed visit reports.
- Attend ongoing in-house and external training relevant to your role and personal development.
- Work within all relevant legislation, including:
- Care Standards Act
- POVA
- Data Protection Act
- Employment Agencies Act
- Equal Opportunities and related legislation (Race Relations Act, Disability Discrimination Act, Equal Pay Act, etc.)
- Comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and company health and safety procedures.
- Ensure health & safety and risk assessments are followed in service users’ homes.
Other Specific Responsibilities
- Ensure care delivered fully meets the service user’s needs as outlined in their care plan.
- Observe, record, and immediately report any changes in health, including:
- Skin condition
- Bowel and urinary changes
- Respiratory difficulties
- Eating/drinking habits
- Behaviour or general condition
- Assist with personal hygiene needs such as dressing, bathing, toileting, oral care, hair care, and meal support, in line with the care plan.
- Strictly refrain from nursing tasks such as catheterisation, administering injections, sterile dressings, or introducing non-prescribed treatments.
- Remain vigilant to any form of abuse and report concerns immediately, providing detailed written reports when required.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times, except when the service user’s safety is at risk—this must be reported to a Care Manager without delay.
Working Pattern
- You will work on a rota basis Monday–Sunday, including bank holidays.
