Grounds Maintenance Operative
We are currently looking for a friendly and enthusiastic person to join our team as a Grounds Maintenance Operative. This is a permanent full-time position.
The successful candidate will need to have the ability to work in a stand-alone position using their own initiative and be able to meet the changing demands of the job. You should be practical, physically fit, reliable and have a flexible attitude to work.
Main Purpose of Job
You will assist with the day to day running of the park ensuring that it is always at its best for visitors at any time.
Duties will include:
- Mowing grass areas
- Strimming
- Pruning shrubs
- Mulching
- Watering
- Hedge cutting with mechanical and hand operated equipment
- Weeding
- Leaf collecting
- Edging
- Digging / forking of beds and borders
- Planting new areas
- Fertiliser spreading
- Fence Care
- Pressure Washing
- Cleaning of Show Homes – maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness inside and outside of show homes
- Liaising with on-site contractors, supervision of them when necessary
Must be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
To be successful you will need to possess the following:
Experience in Horticulture desirable but not essential
Driving Licence and flexibility to work at other sites as required
A determination to achieve the highest standards of cleanliness
A practical approach to undertaking minor groundwork and associated tasks
Be prepared to work flexibly to accommodate seasonal open days and to meet the needs of the business
This is a varied role which requires commitment, good customer care skills, the ability to communicate effectively and a ‘can do’ mentality.
Salary £12.50-£16.00 per hour depending on experience and relevant industry qualification up to £16.00 per hour.
