Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support to enhance their independence.
- Administer medication safely and accurately according to prescribed instructions, ensuring compliance with care plans.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and preferences, fostering healthy living.
- Support patients with specialized care needs including Alzheimer's, dementia, hospice, or other chronic conditions through attentive behavior management and emotional support.
- Drive clients to appointments, social activities, or errands using your own vehicle or company transportation, ensuring punctuality and safety.
- Monitor health status by observing changes in behavior or physical condition and report findings to healthcare professionals promptly.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for clients.
Requirements
- Proven assisted living or home care experience with a strong understanding of patient-centered care principles is desired.
- Knowledge of nursing home procedures, dementia care, Alzheimer's support strategies, and hospice practices is a plus and comes with higher pay rate.
- First aid certification or willingness to obtain training upon hire.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage challenging behaviors compassionately.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, or overnight as needed.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for transportation duties is also desired, but not compulsory.
