What you’ll be doing
- Supporting the Head Chef in managing a busy, high-volume kitchen
- Maintaining standards, consistency, and quality across all dishes and services
- Leading and mentoring the kitchen team, helping to develop junior chefs
- Taking ownership of your section while supporting the wider kitchen operation
- Assisting with stock control, prep planning, and smooth kitchen operations
- Delivering high-quality dishes that meet our standards, every service
- Working closely with front of house to create seamless guest experiences
- Stepping up to manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
Pay & Hours
- £34,000 basic salary
- £5,600 annual bonus
- TRONC (circa £5-7k per year)
- Based on a 45-hour working week
- Pay processed on the last Friday of every month
- Flexible shift patterns between 8am – 11pm, including weekends, depending on venue demands

Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for a Sous Chef with strong leadership skills, a passion for fresh food, and the ability to support the Head Chef in running a high-performing kitchen. You’ll bring experience, confidence, and creativity to the role.
You’ll ideally have:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef in a fast-paced, fresh food kitchen
- Strong knowledge of food quality, presentation, and hygiene standards
- Leadership experience—able to motivate, train, and develop a team
- Confidence in stock control, prep planning, and daily kitchen operations
- A proactive approach—solving problems and stepping up when needed
- Passion for creating high-quality dishes and maintaining high standards
- Knowledge of food safety and a commitment to achieving and maintaining a 5* EHO rating
- A positive, can-do attitude and drive to make the kitchen a great place to work
