We have great opportunities for Machine Operators to join our Production Team based at our plant in Knottingley.
The role works on our 4 on, 6 off shift pattern working 2 x 12 hour days, 2 x 12 hour nights, 6 days off. First up to 4 weeks is Monday to Friday training.
Initially commencing on 70% full rate at £28,700 per annum, increasing over time.
The Machine Operator is responsible for the general running of the machine including the quality, productivity and general cleanliness of the machine and its surrounding area.

Stoelzle Flaconnage is deemed Stoelzle’s centre of excellence concerning development, production and decoration of Premium Spirits Bottles, with the capability to produce glass containers from 5cl up to 4.5l in extra white flint glass or feeder colouration. Due to the utmost flexibility, the site is able to also manufacture small batches for limited editions of luxury brands.
Responsibilities
- Inspecting glass against predetermined criteria including visual standards and standards detailed in the containers quality plan;
- Rejecting glass which falls outside expected standards;
- Monitor and correct / assist in correcting defects found within the production process;
- Inspection of ware on the conveyor should be done before and after swabbing;
- The weighing of a bottle / bottles from a section should be done every time swabbing occurs, or every 15 minutes, whichever is the lesser time.
- All relevant paperwork is filled in correctly
- Ensure the duties are carried out in accordance with current health and safety regulations.
- Undertaking other duties as requested by the Departmental manager, Foreman, or other company managers.
Skills & Qualifications Required
· Understand fault terminology – recognising bottle defects and identifying causes on the IS Machine;
· Identify and understand the operating principles for different bottle making processes;
· Understand the reasons and correct techniques for swabbing;
· Identify and alter mechanical operations on various mechanisms on the IS Machine;
· Aware of quality control;
· Measuring and monitoring production;
· Effective team member and good communicator;
· Able to identify bottle faults, using the appropriate terminology;
· Excellent observational skills.
