I’ll be honest - if you’re happy where you are, this probably isn’t the job for you.
But if you’re fed up with unrealistic bonus targets, being treated like a number, or working somewhere that values sales over doing the job properly, then keep reading.
At Stonehouse Motor Company we’re proving that independent garages can do things differently. We’ve built our reputation on honesty, transparency and looking after our customers properly. As a result, we’re busier than we’ve ever been, with a loyal customer base that keeps coming back and plenty of new faces through the door every week.
I’m looking for someone who wants to be part of that journey.
This isn’t somewhere you’ll disappear into the background. We’re a small team where everyone knows each other, everyone has a voice, and you’ll have direct access to me as the business owner every single day. We work hard, have a laugh while we’re doing it, and genuinely enjoy coming to work.
What you’ll be doing
No two days are ever the same.
You’ll be carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs across a wide range of manufacturers, diagnosing complex faults and completing major mechanical repairs to a high standard.
We invest in good workshop systems too. Our garage management software keeps everything organised, meaning less paperwork, better communication and more time actually doing what you’re good at.
What we’re looking for
We’re after an experienced technician who takes pride in their work.
You’ll need:
- Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification.
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
- At least five years’ experience carrying out diagnostics, repairs and servicing.
- The confidence to diagnose faults properly rather than simply replacing parts.
- A positive attitude, a friendly personality and, most importantly, a sense of humour. That last one really is non-negotiable.
What you’ll get
We’re not interested in dangling unrealistic bonus schemes in front of you.
Instead, we offer:
- £32,000+ salary for the right person.
- Company pension.
- Monthly in-house technical training.
- Access to manufacturer and external training courses.
- The opportunity to develop into EV diagnosis and repair.
- Regular social events.
- A business that genuinely invests in its people.
My aim isn’t just to fill a vacancy. I want someone who wants to build a career here.
Within six months, you’ll know the customers by name, you’ll feel part of the team, and you’ll understand why so many people choose to stay with us.
Why choose an independent garage over a main dealer?
Because here, quality comes before targets.
You’re trusted to do the job properly, not rushed to hit unrealistic labour times. Decisions aren’t made by someone in a head office who’s never picked up a spanner. If you’ve got an idea that will improve the business, you’ll be listened to.
You’ll work on a huge variety of vehicles instead of the same brand every day, you’ll continue learning, and you’ll be part of a business that’s growing because customers genuinely trust us.
If you’re looking for somewhere you can enjoy your work, continue developing your skills and be recognised for the technician you are, I’d love to hear from you.
Come and have a chat with us. We think you’ll notice the difference.
