Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on residential and commercial buildings. Responsibilities
- Install new roofing systems using various materials such as tiles, shingles, metal sheets, and membranes
- Repair and replace damaged or worn roofing components to ensure waterproofing and structural integrity
- Conduct inspections of roofs to identify issues and determine necessary repairs or replacements
- Prepare work sites by setting up scaffolding, ladders, and safety barriers
- Measure roof dimensions accurately to ensure proper material quantities
- Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects on time and within budget
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
Experience
- Proven experience in roofing, carpentry, or related construction trades is preferred
- Knowledge of other building trades such as plumbing, masonry, electrical work, or welding is advantageous
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools and power tools for cutting, shaping, and fastening materials
- Experience with fabrication techniques relevant to roofing projects is desirable
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications accurately
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and safety standards
