The Postgraduate Education Administrator is responsible all aspects of postgraduate education support in the Department of Chemistry, including training, researcher development and associated budget, student presentation opportunities, induction, e-resources, and web pages for all areas relating to prospective or current postgraduate students. They also provide adminstrative support to the Postgraduate Admissions and Education Manager and the Postgraduate Student Co-ordinator when required.
Knowledge of web-based systems and an interest in improving processes through the use of technology is key for this role, including an interest in VLEs, and the use of Teams and SharePoint to communicate and host training. Excellent organisational, communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as familiarity with standard software packages such as Word and Excel and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, use their initiative in a positive manner, work well independently as well as part of a team, and meet deadlines under pressure with minimum supervision.
Candidates should be educated to HND/HNC, Level 4/5 vocational qualifications or equivalent level of practical experience. Administrative experience in a demanding role is essential and in a Higher Education setting preferred. Having experience with CamSIS, iProc and Moodle is highly desirable, with a willingness to learn new systems.
